Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of trips do you offer?
These are guided mountain bike adventures, not package holidays. I guide you through some of the best riding, routes, and hidden spots the area has to offer, focusing on flow, fun, challenge, and adventure.
You bring the legs, the skills, and the stoke. I bring the local knowledge, route planning, and experience.
Who are these trips for?
These trips are best suited for riders who:
• Are confident on technical and challenging terrain
• Have experience riding off-road trails, steep descents,
and varied conditions
• Are comfortable spending long days on the bike
• Enjoy adventure, progression, and getting out of
your comfort zone!
If you’re brand new to mountain biking or uncomfortable with exposure, technical features, or sustained climbs, these trips may not be the right fit.
Do I need a certain level of fitness?
Yes. You are responsible for your own fitness and riding ability.
Riding days can be physically demanding and may include:
• Long climbs
• Technical descents
• Variable weather
• Multiple hours in the saddle
I won’t push you beyond what you choose to ride, but you should arrive prepared for challenging terrain and full riding days.
What should I expect from the guiding?
You can expect:
• Expert local route selection
• Guidance through technical and challenging terrain
• A supportive, encouraging atmosphere
• Flexibility to adapt routes based on conditions and group ability
• A focus on fun, flow, and adventure over racing or rigid schedules
You should not expect:
• Coaching or riding lessons
• Someone to “tow” you through terrain beyond your ability
• A fully supported or luxury experience
• A beginner-friendly introduction to mountain biking
Is accommodation included?
No. Accommodation is not provided.
These trips are guiding only.
You are responsible for arranging your own accommodation, transport, food, and personal logistics.
I’m always happy to recommend areas to stay, good campsites, or van-friendly spots if you ask.
What about food, transport, and logistics?
• Food and drinks are not included
• Transport to and from ride start points is not included unless explicitly stated
• You are responsible for arriving on time and ready to ride
Clear details will be provided before the trip so you know exactly where to meet and what to bring.
What bike and equipment do I need?
You’ll need:
• A well-maintained mountain bike suitable for technical terrain
• Helmet (mandatory)
• Appropriate protective gear for the terrain
• Tools, spares, and water for a full riding day
• Clothing suitable for changing weather conditions
If your bike isn’t safe or suitable, I may refuse participation for safety reasons.
What’s the vibe of the trips?
Adventurous, supportive, honest, and real.
Expect:
• Laughs
• Hard efforts
• Big rides
• Beautiful places
• The satisfaction of doing something properly challenging
This isn’t a tick-box tour, it’s an experience.
Still unsure if it’s right for you?
If you’re on the fence, get in touch before booking.
I’d much rather help you decide honestly than have you show up feeling under-prepared.
